Toriyama-sensei revealed some info on Goku’s mother. Yes, 18 years after the official ending of the series in Japan and 11 years after the ending of Dragon Ball Z in North America, Toriyama-sensei has shed some light on the mother of Goku and wife of Bardock. Her name was Gine, which is an anagram of the Japanese word negi (meaning green onion, spring onion, or scallion). While her face has not yet been revealed, it will be in April of this year in Toriyama-sensei’s Jaco the Galactic Patrolma manga. Jaco the Galactic Patrolma is a comedic manga that takes place 10 years before the start of Dragon Ball. It follows the story of a Galactic Patrolman named Jaco and Bulma’s older sister Tights (she was never in the actual Dragon Ball series).
